Activision Blizzard Entertainment revealed today that their latest first-player shooter game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has achieved a huge release in North America, United Kingdom and other parts of the world.
According to report released by Charttrack, more than 6.5 million copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 games were sold in North United States and United Kingdom within 24 hours of launch. Call of Duty franchise has built a solid reputation among gamers around the globe and that is revealed by the huge response it receives every single year.
Two years ago, when Activision Publishing launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it grossed about $310 million from first day sales and last year, when they launched its sequel – Call of Duty: Black Ops, they collected a nice $360 from first day sales.
But this time around, the guys behind Call of Duty series have broken records of all sorts, within 24 hours of the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision collected a massive sum of $400 million from first day sales in US and UK alone.
In fact, no other company, in any form of entertainment, has been able to secure a figure of this magnitude within first 24 hours of release.

On the huge success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision donated $3 million to Call of Duty Endowment, which is branch of Activision that serves American Veterans by providing Job replacements and training to them.
