I was asked this question by a friend, “Dude, please help me, suggest me which brand to trust while purchasing a smartphone?” at that point of time i had little idea about these brands’ smartphones but after a little research i suggested him the right brand.
And now i want to share it on the web with my friends from IndiBlogger, Google and rest of the world.
A cheap smartphone should be appropriate for you if you just want it for show off. The most compatible brand for those genre of people would be a Nokia or a BlackBerry because HTC design’s are not very trendy.
Samsung phones can also be given a look in this smartphone series. Have a look.

Hmm… Nokia is definitely not what i would spend money on because of past experiences but if you have had a nice time candy bar Nokia phones then it is an indication that Nokia smartphones will match your preferences.

Dunno about the motorola quench performance, i have used htc wildfire first hand and it is good just the processor is a bit slow when compared htc desire hd but then the price point comes in.

the only prob with wildfire is the resolution … which is not at all a problem …. Plus Its upgradable to Andriod 2.2 (froyo) in India now !!!

I would say, don’t buy C6, it runs on Symbian which is outdated. I have two options for you… Samsung Galaxy Ace, it is a brilliant device, i think you will fall in love with that as well unless you like a QWERTY keyboard and if you really want a QWERTY keyboard then for that Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro would do fine.

xperia mini pro mobile phone from se is good, it has both qwerty keypad as well touchscreen input methods, you can buy that, its specs and features are good too.
dunno abt battery backup in usage but it is good on paper. no idea abt gps.

se x10 mini costs a little less than mini pro mobile phone but features are same so you can go for any of them, features are nice. but se x8 is not good at all. no idea about which mobile phone has better gps.

samsung monte multimedia mobile phone is very good for watching movies, it has a very good battery life too. it costs nearly rs. 8000 very good phone indeed.

many mobile phones support flash but i would suggest you to go with sony ericsson xperia mini pro, it has a small touchscreen but its hardware is very good or else if you want a bigger touchscreen motorola xt5.

Between Galaxy Ace and Xperia Mini, the latter is better, because of hardware and camera.
Though, if you want a bigger touchscreen, you can very well choose Galaxy Ace over Xperia Mini.

Hmm… If front camera is a priority for you, then you’d have to go for Motorola Fire XT is the only choice, I checked Motorola DEFY but it doesn’t have secondary camera as well.

the only problem with LG Optimus One is that is from LG, the hardware part is a bit in question.

Guys According to me , the LG Optimus P500 is the undisputed champion of value for money.. Yeah Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 would be great buy too.
Ace Has 3.5 inch screen along with 5 mega pixel autofocus camera(Flash)
O1 Has 3.2 inch screen along with 3.2 mega pixel camera
Screen resolution is same in both.
Both runs on same type of processors, the Ace gets a speed bump of 200 MHz which brings the clock speed to 800 MHz. While O1 sticks to 600MHz.
(200MHz of increased clock speed may not result in highly improved performance– Moreover ACE has a Over-clocked version of Optimus One CPU, nothing else.)
However Ace has 1350 mAh battery, Optimus has 1500 mAh battery. Also RAM in Ace is 278 MB compared to 512 MB in Optimus
Why pay 2.5k extra for a Device which has lower Ram? Biggest drawback for Ace.
(Note : Android OS is memory intensive not cpu )
One examle : At-least 512MB Ram (Ace has only 278mb Ram) should be there for running firefox on android. Follow : http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/platforms/
On other hand LG Optimus One P500 is sure to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, however there no such announcement made by Samung yet for its model.
In Summary…
What I feel is O1 is worth every penny for its price as an entry level android.
It makes sense to go for LGOptimus One..
it depends on the choice mate… i have never had a good experience with lg gadgets therefore i never recommend it… in cell phones…

um… i don’t think there any smartphone under rs. 15000 that can support online games, i am sorry, but you can buy htc wildfire s it would give you great video streaming but online games — i don’t think so.

Well, there is Motorola XT5 that is under Rs. 10000, only it would have Android OS v2.2 Froyo.
I’ve been an old Nokia phone. But scorned twice in last 1 year. First with E 72 (Jun 2010 & now with E 5 (Feb 2011). Both kept on freezing on me. And have made numerous trips to Nokia care. Even now, I think E 5 & 72 are just the phones I wanted. If only they could perform what they promise.
My needs are rather ordinary.
1. Qwerty
2. 3g , wifi
3. Decent camera( 3-5 mgp)
4. Pushmail
5. Limited surfing for news etc.
6. Hardly any multimedia
Blackberry would have served me well. But for 2 reasons
1. Their internet services are 3- 4 times costly.
2. I can’t use it to access internet on my laptop.
i would suggest you to have a look at samsung galaxy pro, it is qwerty, android has decent performance, you can tether internet on laptop. it doesn’t cost much as well. other than that htc wildfire s, the new one is quick little smartphone but it doesn’t have qwerty keyboard

Well, yes, typing on touchscreen is more difficult than on a QWERTY keypad.
There are no disadvantages, you just have to pick up the form factor that suits you. I can go with a touchscreen phone because neither i use phone for email nor texting.
No, you can tether any Smartphone with your laptop, BlackBerry is no exception, you can easily tether any Android or Bada Phone with your computer using the software provided by the manufacturer.

htc wildfire is a nice phone but if you don’t have budget limits, wildfire s is much better in terms of specs and performance.

not much, it is just an old os, although you would get loads of apps from OVI store, well, have a look at its music performance at some showroom, and check out whether it matches your requirements. On papers, i won’t recommend it.

Motorola DEFY is a very nice Smartphone but it has no QWERTY keyboard and BlackBerry 9300 Curve has great email and business function but the camera is 3.2 and the quality would not be comparable to that of Motorola DEFY.

Symbian is outdated but still Nokia e71 is a great phone for business and overall performance, Most business people don’t like playing games and stuff so it is definitely a nice choice for them. Anyways, in the price range you mentioned, you can buy Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro (the screen size a bit small though), HTC Wildfire S or BlackBerry Curve 9300 3G.

Dude, Both phones have their pros and cons, Galaxy Ace is better in performs, but is a failed copy of iPhone, it looks pathetic, I would instead go for HTC Wildfire S and on the other hand Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro has a small touchscreen but still looks better. there is no front camera in both wildfire and blackberry curve..you should try nokia c6 or c6-01 for video calling…otherwise samsung wave 2 is also a good phone.
Samsung Wave 2 is a nice Smartphone but runs on Bada OS which is not up to the mark when compared to Android.

Try them out yourself in some display store, both phones are comparable in terms of overall performance, but if you are addicted to game, go for samsung galaxy ace because it has a dedicated adreno processor that would render high quality android video games on this smartphone, although don’t expect to run HD games, they require too much of GPU.

If a Smartphone has a front facing camera, it means it supports video calling, it is not there for self-portrait or something like that. Every phone that has front facing camera has an inbuilt video calling.
HTC Salsa has video calling, go for it and Android is anyway better than Bada.

LG Optimus Me looks a pretty good Smartphone when it comes to technical specs but the main problem that i have personally faced with LG is the experience. But on that video they are telling that the htc wildfire s or sonyericson xperia mini is better than this.
and both theses phones has good User Interface which motorola having least.
but i felt its better phone,goodluking,good UI,large screen,good processor….

All these three phones are pretty much comparable in overall “value for money,” buy the one which you like. SE Xperia Mini is better in performance but it costs more than Fire XT as well. Choose the Smartphone which fits your budgets and caters your needs.
Motorola Fire XT is a good phone, go for it, if you like the design and features.

As per the price, it has a decent processor, though you can also see Samsung Galaxy Y, it has a 830 MHz processor if you want performance but then Galaxy Y has a small display.

Android has apps and is flexible, you can top it up with custom mods whereas Symbian is very much outdated, and its UI is not much customize-able.

Both HTC Salsa and Wildfire have a good camera and similar display screen, the only difference is in the size. Pick up the one with which you are comfortable.
HTC Explorer is an entry level Android – out of Salsa and Wildfire’s league.

Micromax A75 SUPERFONE Lite Dual SIM is a good phone to buy as an smart phone mainly due to dual sim i am preferring this or should i wait for lg optimus net dual p698.
Choose any phone, both look have somewhat similar features. LG Optimus Net Dual has better processor while Micromax A75 has flash with camera. In my opinion LG Optimus is better on papers.
Why don’t you try them out yourself before you decide to buy it.

galaxy ace does not support adobe flash player . so no heavy online games. else a good phone
It has a dedicated Adreno 205 GPU, it can support a few good games but not the ones which are designed for Superphones.

Check out HTC ChaCha, it has QWERTY keypad for messaging and Social Networking and runs on Android OS which can be customized with apps, wallpapers, games and more. It is a pretty decent Android Phone with QWERTY keypad.
Symbian is outdated, but if you want, I can suggest some Symbian alternatives.

Nokia 701 has Symbian Belle OS, it is good but Symbian is very much outdated, check out Lumia 710, it costs around 15K and has latest OS, though you can also choose HTC Radar.
