This year, the rumour mill is favouring the online retail giant Amazon. First we heard about the second-gen Kindle Fire and now we are hearing about an upcoming Android Smartphone. Last week, Bloomberg reported that Amazon might be working with Foxconn for its upcoming Android phone and now WSJ is reporting something on the same lines. According to WSJ’s credible source, the device, which apparently has a 4- to 5-inch touchscreen is getting tested and might go into production late this year, or early next year. Since Amazon would be using its Smartphone to sell content like books, magazines, videos, music, apps and games; anything under 4.5-inches won’t do the job. Still, this whole ‘Amazon Smartphone’ thing is under the rumour radar; until Amazon announces Kindle Fire 2, these rumours must be tagged ‘uncredible’.
