In first phase, about 1 crore SMS cards were sold in Uttar Pradesh. Team Anna says such a service was needed to provide its supporters with accurate information regarding IAC movement. To serve a Database of 3 crore users, IAC purchased Bulk messages from a server in Mumbai.
“Faced with fund crunch, IAC has decided to rake up the money from the supporters,” said Vaibhav Maheshwari, an active member of Team Anna in Uttar Pradesh.
