NVIDIA has finally pulled off the curtains from its Kepler architecture powered cards — GeForce GTX 680M which Alienware has incorporated in its upcoming M17x and M18x notebooks without missing a beat. These events took place at Computex 2012 in Taipei and E3 2012 in Los Angeles respectively.

While M17x uses a single 2GB GDDR5 card for powering high-def games — M18x has dual-channel graphics which best utilizes NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology. But Alienware won’t be the only company offering these graphic cards in their systems. You shall see these cards in computers manufactured by custom system-builders like Ava Direct, Origin, and Maingear too.

GeForce GTX 680M cards also have Optimus technology for extended battery life which equals longer duration of gaming on a single charge. Pricing and availability — still under the veil.
