Netflix Entertainment Buys ‘House of Cards’ for $100 million dollars
Netflix has been known to provide easily accessible content on various platforms including Sony PlayStation 3 but now they have decided to create some original content too.

Most of the content featured via their services is adopted from other publishers like the premium cable shows, premium videos and movies etc. but this time Netflix has outbid HBO for a television show called House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey and David Fincher (who has already gained a lot of success in entertainment world after The Social Network).
$100 Million Placed for the Rights
Surprisingly, Netflix Entertainment has put of $100 million dollars to purchase the rights of this television program which is very interesting because $100 million is quite a big sum.
If we compute the number of episodes in this television series and the amount placed to buy this series, then pay per episode is approx. $ 4 million since there are 26 episodes of House of Cards in total.

A WSJ Report suggests that some ‘Netflix insider’ has revealed that the story is correct, Netflix Entertainment has decided to purchase the rights but the amount put up for House of Cards might be a little less than $100 million dollars.

The Television Industry: Game of Money
Television industry has its cons, like every other business there is possibility for loss. When a show hasn’t being aired once no one knows how people are going to respond to it, would they watch it or not therefore it isn’t a very intelligent idea to put your money on every other show that is put up to be aired.
Netflix Entertainment knows this fact very well therefore they have placed their money only on the television program which they think would become popular.
House of Cards would now be screen exclusively on Netflix Services which means Netflix finally has something exclusive which other premium cable operators won’t.
