Google’s flagship JellyBean tablet is out for some time now and many of you must have noticed that it lacks a rear camera. Although, I have rarely seen people using their tablet for capturing photos but still if you compare Nexus 7 with other tablets – most of them have a rear camera.
Anyways, while unboxing Nexus 7 inside-out, XDA developers found a slot for the camera in Nexus 7’s main board – along with all the connectors. This could either mean that Google had plans of putting a rear camera on Nexus 7 or ASUS might be supplying this board to other 7-inch tablet makers.
Google has made it clear that Nexus 7 lacks rear camera so as to keep the costs low therefore you might not see a camera in future versions of Nexus tablets. In my opinion, there’s no use of rear camera in a tablet – so Google’s made the right decision.
