Somewhere in our imagination – we know that our future mobile phones, tablets and laptops would have flexible displays – they could be folded and carried along anywhere – conveniently. Flexible Display Center (FDC) at Arizona State University (ASU) has announced that they have manufactured world’s largest full-color flexible OLED display that measures 7.4-inches diagonally. The display has been manufactured in co-operation with Army Research Labs scientists, is made using mixed oxide thin film transistors (TFTs) and is currently on display at SID Display Week in Boston. As of now, the date when we might see these displays in the market is unclear though US Army might get flexible wrist computers soon.
