Kapil Sibal, India’s HRD Minister has confirmed that the second-generation of Aakash tablet is about to strike; sometimes in July for 35 American Dollars. The device, according to UK-based Datawind’s CEO Sunit Singh Tuli, would feature better hardware and software config. Sibal says the device would not only have improved specs but something that none of the current Android-based tablets have — the ability to program software in languages including Python, C, C++ and Scilab. Datawind has already provided 100 test units of Aakash 2 tablet to IIT-B which have beenĀ approved. Final specifications of the tablet would be revealed in a couple of days; we’ll keep you updated!
