HCL released two new Android tablets in India – the HCL ME U1 and the HCL MyEdu Tab. Both tablets run on the latest version of Android operating system i.e. Ice Cream Sandwich and are competitively priced.
The HCL ME U1 features a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display that offers a resolution of 800×480 pixels. On the inside, it has a 1 GHz processor, 512MB RAM DDR3, 4 GB internal storage, memory card slot (up to 32 GB microSD card supported), mini & regular USB ports, Wi-Fi & 3G connectivity options and a 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. The HCL ME U1 would be sold in India with a price tag of Rs. 7,999/-
On the other hand, the HCL MyEdu Tab is designed to cater the digital requirements of school children thus comes loaded with several educational content and apps. It has the same technical specifications as HCL ME U1 tablets and comes in two variants – MyEduTab–K12 and MyEduTab-Higher Education(HE).
MyEduTab – K12 would be sold for Rs. 11,499 with several educational applications and NCERT books while MyEduTab – Higher Education(HE) would be sold for Rs. 9,999 with educational content and online certification pack.
Both these tablets would be available for purchase across India from April.
HCL might not have competition from big companies in this price bracket but there are several domestic tablet manufacturers who offer low-priced Android tablets with high quality hardware configuration.

These cheaper tab’s are pretty good will try my hands on when it will launch. But still 512 mb ram is it enough for doing multitasking .
These tablets are basically for education, maybe that’s why they have focused on software rather than hardware and looks.
Which one will be the best buy according to you HCl U1 or HCL MyEdu i would say HCL U1 because if the specs are same you can save some extra bucks .
