I agree, Firefox is a very sound piece of web browser but i wanted something that is light and doesn’t delay in loading.

After sometimes firefox becomes slow. chrome doesn’t.

Chrome is my primary browser as i live in a white zone and my connection speed was very, very slow. After installing Chrome my speeds nearly tripled, Chrome is amazingly fast but i wouldnt say that it is a well rounded browser. It states that it is compatable with real player and will allow u to download streaming videos but it isnt. As far as a good, well rounded browser goes i would recommend giving explorer 9 a chance. Its speeds are very close to high end browsers today and has made a remarkable interface change, its stability is worth the few micro seconds of lag u get while surfing.I RECOMMEND EXPLORER 9.

      Hi Cordis,

I haven’t used IE9 because i am currently using Windows XP on my PC (programming reasons). I will keep updating this list if some new browser jumps into the Top 5.

Firefox has been my overall fav for years but recently it has become kind of bloated. All of the add-ons and extensions can be nice but they can also really slow it down. It seems like the gap between them and the others keeps closing a little more and more over the years.

Chrome is nice and lite and the one that I prefer to use for flash (ie facebook apps & youtube vids), because it doesn’t lag as much. Privacy is a big concern with it though. Funny how they can never quite figure out how to clear out your cookies & temp. files automatically when you close the browser, hugh? If you don’t go in and do it manually, they WILL keep adding up and start slowing you down. And no, you can check the little box to clear them but it’s just not going to happen.

Internet explorer, ha ha yea — I keep it around for updates and… the little “e” really adds serious bling to my desktop icons. Other than that…

Opera & Safari… well I used them years ago but had seriously compatibility issues with them while surfing the web. Have been thinking about trying them out again… someday.

Firefox is quite slow, i though Firefox 5 would be faster than Chrome, but the result is negative. Also, i used to use Opera a lot earlier, but now i stick to Chrome and sometimes use Internet Explorer, because almost all the websites are compatible with IE.

Try Maxthon 3. It is pretty good, versatile and to me seems better than other comparable browsers, including IE/Chrome/Firefox.

    thanks for the post..
in my opinion firefox could be the best browser if developers could work on the high memory usage by it that makes it on the heavier side and slow down the performance…

I am a big Firefox fan and but I use it sometimes because Google Chrome is faster. I think Firefox does have a better resource management than any other web browser.
