Over the years, Android has gained massive popularity among Cell Phone users and according to a recent report released by Stats Counter, the stock browser (Dolphin) that comes with every Android phone have overtaken Opera to become World’s most used phone web browser in the month of February.
Android has more than 250 million users worldwide thus this overtake is not that astounding for me. In a couple of months or so Google would release Official Chrome web browser for Android and that might escalate web browsing on Android devices even further. Opera, Mozilla and other phone web browsers need to re-invent, quick!

Opera web browser is quite popular in India, it is mostly used by people having a feature phone like Nokia X2-01 because it displays the web in desktop format and compresses images to reduce data costs.
There is not a single low-priced cell phone that can browse web in desktop format thus Opera Mini web browser is a necessity for such phones. Phone manufactures like Samsung, Nokia etc. sell their low-priced phones with pre-installed Opera Mini web browser.
Opera would try to regain its position by releasing Opera Mini 7 web browser (currently in Beta) for all sorts of devices which is aimed at providing users with a more advanced and social mobile Web experience.
Any thoughts on this?
